I've been lying here, trying not to think of how nervous I am that my book is coming out this Friday (insert shameless self-promotion here) so I decided to turn on some tv and get my mind off things. There's always one show that I can turn on a random episode for and zone out: The Office (US version). I think most of us have that one television show or movie that no matter how many times we've seen it, if it is on, we will happily watch it.
For me, there's just something about Michael Scott's crazy antics and Dunder Mifflin's charming collection of rapscallions that tugs on my heartstrings. I've seen every episode many times and once a year I usually spend a few weeks re-watching every season. So of course I feel connected to the characters and I often wonder what they ended up doing "after the show". So, I'm going to share with you my ideas of what happened to the characters of The Office. Of course, these are not my characters and this is not official information, just a little fan-fiction. There are SO many characters I want to talk about, so I will split this up into 2-3 posts....let me know what you think in the comments!
Michael Scott: Shortly after moving to Colorado, Michael married Holly in a small ceremony. He wanted to have it at a local skating rink, but Holly wasn't able to skate down the aisle due to being 3 months pregnant! Little MJ was born happy and healthy 6 months later. They both wanted a big family and after 2 heart-breaking miscarriages, they decided to adopt. They now have 4 children: Michael Junior, Chevy, Martin and little Catherine Zeta. Michael calls himself the Colorado Brangelina (Holly wants no part in the nickname). Michael and Holly love being parents so much that they couldn't bear to be away from their kids all day at work. So they turned their home into a Day Care and now Scott's Tots Childcare is a thriving business. They are planning a vacation to Disney World this spring.
Dwight Schrute: Dwight it still Regional Manager of Dunder Mifflin Scranton. His team's sales are at record highs despite the growing competition, which he attributes to his firm-but-fair leadership. When he is not working at the office or taking care of the farm, he is spending time with his wife and 2 sons, Phillip and Eric. He is raising them to be strong Schrute men and has even developed his own children's survival group called B.E.E.T.S (Better Endurance & Excellence Training for Survival) which he is sure will overtake the Boy Scouts...as soon as he can convince the parents to sign the gun waivers.
Angela Schrute: Being a mother of 12 (2 human, 10 feline) is not easy, but of course Angela has founds ways to manage. In fact, shortly after the birth of her second son, she quit Dunder Mifflin to work full-time on the Schrute Farm. She turned one of the old barns into a beautiful event venue, which means she gets to be the head of the party planning committee all year long! Reviews on Weddingbee.com insist your wedding reception will be flawless here...as long as you don't let the wedding planner make you cry.
Jim and Pam Halpert: Jim and Pam are thriving in their Austin home. Jim loves his job at Athlead and recently got to meet Lance Armstrong, who gave him some pointers on his bicycling (Oscar was green with envy when he saw the photos on Facebook)! Pam runs private art classes from their guest house and was recently commissioned to make the illustrations for a popular children's book. After a romantic second-honeymoon in Cancun, they found out they are expecting! Cecelia and Phillip can't wait to meet their little brother, due later this year.
Toby Flenderson: After the documentary finished shooting, Toby moved to New York to pursue his dream of becoming an author. His Chad Flenderson novels tanked, and broke and penniless he was ready to admit defeat when he discovered a book someone forgot on the subway: Fifty Shades of Gray. He read it in one day and thought to himself, I could do this! He is now one of Amazon Kindle's best-selling authors for erotica. He writes under the pen name "Toni Mifflin" because if his fans knew he was a middle-aged man, he wouldn't get so many sales. He now lives a peaceful author's life in his Michigan cabin. His girlfriend Jill really likes his new mustache.
That's all for now! Please let me know if you enjoyed this! I will write about more of the characters next week, so stay tuned. :)
